"It was crystal clear that our lineup was mounted to be definitely superior to that of the rivals. We were better than the Brazilians in defence and in overall tactics.", he added during the press conference. "When speaking to my players after the game, we asked one another what we could have done to avoid what happened.", he stated.

For the Argentinean coach, the outcome of the final of the Copa America doesn´t serve justice.

"The result doesn¿t reflect what both teams produced on the pitch. ¿Some squads reverse the scoring with merit, other by pure chance. The final was a perfect example."

He also added that his players were not nervous during the shootout. "The penalty shootout didn´t affect the players. They were more nervous than we were.", he concluded.
