Recently eliminated from the Copa América, the national teams of Chile and Peru will meet in a friendly on August 11th, in the Peruvian city of Tacna. The fixture will serve as a preparation for the Chileans, who clash with Colombia, on September 5th, in Santiago, in the 2006 World Cup Qualifiers.

It´s also an opportunity to put behind the exit in the continental tournament. Chile were ousted in the first phase of Copa América, ending last in Group C, with one point. The side managed by Brazilian-born coach for Peru, Paulo Autuori, reached the quarterfinals, but despite all the home support, they lost to Argentina 1-nil.
